Savings calculator: what does manual work cost you a year?

Enter how many people spend how many hours a week on a recurring task, and what an hour costs. You see straight away what that manual work costs a year in hours and money.

What manual work costs a year is: number of people × hours a week × working weeks a year × cost per hour. This calculator from Elusive Innovations in Oss does that sum with your own numbers. It shows what the work costs now, not what you would save: which part can be automated is what the free business scan shows.

How do you calculate what manual work costs?

Count how many people do the task and how many hours a week each spends on it. Multiply by the number of weeks a year the task is done: those are the hours a year. Multiply those by the cost per hour and you have what the task costs a year.

What do I use as the cost per hour?

Gross salary plus employer costs such as holiday pay, pension and contributions, divided by the hours someone works. Your payroll or accountant can give you that number. The calculator uses what you enter and fills in no average of its own.

Why does the calculator not show a saving?

Because that differs per task. Some work can be automated almost entirely, other work only in part, and sometimes the cheapest fix is a better agreement rather than software. A percentage without looking at the task would be a guess.

What does the business scan do with these numbers?

They are added to your request as a note. The scan looks at your website and public company information and shows in a five-page report (in Dutch) where manual work can go. Free, no appointment.

Are my numbers stored?

No. The calculator works in your browser. Only when you request the business scan are the numbers included in that request.
